random walk model

a model of reaction time and accuracy in which the evidence mounts in discrete steps, causing one to incline toward or away from alternative response criteria. A response is made when the evidence, or “walk,” reaches one of the criteria.

n. the surgical interruption of a nerve tract in the brainstem or spinal cord. One form of tractotomy is of benefit in bipolar disorder that is resistant to other forms of treatment.
