quasi-interval scale

a rating scale that classifies responses by using ordered options but that lacks equal distances between all scale points. For example, some response items could show equal distances between scale points, whereas for other items respondents could have a difficult time differentiating among options, leading to compression or stretching between scale points. See interval scale.
