psychogenic

adj. resulting from mental factors. The term is used particularly to denote or refer to a disorder that cannot be accounted for by any identifiable physical dysfunction and is believed to be due to psychological factors (e.g., a conversion disorder). In psychology and psychiatry, psychogenic disorders are improperly considered equivalent to functional disorders.
