preoccupied attachment

an adult attachment style that combines a negative internal working model of attachment of oneself, characterized by doubt in one’s own competence and efficacy, and a positive internal working model of attachment of others, characterized by one’s trust in the ability and dependability of others. Individuals with preoccupied attachment are presumed to seek others’ help when distressed. Compare dismissive attachment; fearful attachment; secure attachment.

position power

a capacity to influence others based on their acceptance that the influencer occupies a formal position in the organization or group that gives him or her the right to make decisions and to demand compliance. In other words, the power is associated with the position itself and is not dependent on the person in that position. See legitimate power.
