premorbid adjustment

premorbid adjustment

a measure of the level of a person’s functioning before the onset of an acute psychological disorder. The measure, as used in the Phillips Rating Scale of Premorbid Adjustment in Schizophrenia, has been found to be of value in predicting the course of schizophrenia.
