precognition

n. in parapsychology, the purported ability to see or experience future events through some form of extrasensory perception. In a test of precognition, the participant would be asked to predict the outcome of a future set of trials involving Zener cards or similar stimulus materials. Compare retrocognition. forward conditioning

in classical conditioning, the pairing of two stimuli such that the conditioned stimulus is presented before the unconditioned stimulus. Also called forward pairing. Compare backward conditioning.
