positive feedback

1. an arrangement whereby some of the output of a system, whether mechanical or biological, is fed back to increase the effect of input signals. Positive feedback is rare in biological systems. See feedback system.

2. acceptance, approval, affirmation, or praise received by a person in response to his or her performance. Compare negative feedback.
