n. a device that measures the intensity of light, taking into account the sensitivity of the human visual system to light of different wavelengths. This measurement is different from that of the amount of energy produced by a light source.

confusion effect

an antipredator behavior in which each of several animals moves or vocalizes in a highly random way, making it difficult for predators to locate and attack any one individual. See also dilution effect.
