pharmacokinetics

n. the study of how pharmacological agents are processed within a biological system, in vivo or in vitro, including factors that influence the absorption, distribution, metabolism, and elimination of a substance or its metabolic products. The study of this process in infants and children is called developmental pharmacokinetics.
