passionate love

a type of love in which emotional arousal and usually sexual passion are prominent features; along with companionate love, it is one of the two main types of love identified by social psychologists. Passionate lovers typically are greatly preoccupied with each other, want their feelings to be reciprocated, and are usually greatly distressed when the relationship seems awry.
