n. insistently illogical or delusional thinking and verbal expression, sometimes observed in schizophrenia. Eugen Bleuler cited the example of a patient who justified his insistence that he was Switzerland by saying “Switzerland loves freedom. I love freedom. I am Switzerland.” Also called paralogical thinking; perverted logic; perverted thinking. See also evasion.

a system, model, or code for unambiguously naming and organizing values, ideas, and conduct, which enables communication and social exchange (i.e., at the levels of language and behavior) among members of a particular group or community. [term coined and theory elaborated by Romanian-born French psychologist Serge Moscovici (1925–  )]
