P1 component

the first positive component of an event-related potential, occurring approximately 100 ms after stimulus onset. The P1 component is usually larger for attended stimuli than for unattended stimuli, a phenomenon known as the P1 attention effect. Hence, it is thought to reflect the initial sensory and attentional processing of a stimulus by specific areas of the cerebral cortex.
