outcome dependence

a social situation in which one person’s outcomes, including the rewards or punishments experienced, are determined in whole or in part by the actions of another person. Compare outcome interdependence. [based on the social exchange theory of John W. Thibaut and Harold H. Kelley as described in their book The Social Psychology of Groups (1959)]
