the arrangement and interrelationship of the various parts or elements of an organization. Organizational structures can be described on several dimensions, including simple versus complex, centralized versus decentralized, and hierarchical versus nonhierarchical. A distinction can also be made between the formal organizational structure and the informal structures of an organization.
