organismic personality theory

an approach to personality theory in which personal functioning is understood in terms of the action of the whole, coherent, integrated organism, rather than in terms of psychological variables representing one versus another isolated aspect of body or mind. [developed by Kurt Goldstein and Hungarian psychologist Andras Angyal (1902–1960)]
