occupational culture

a distinctive pattern of thought and behavior shared by members of the same occupation and reflected in their language, values, attitudes, beliefs, and customs. For example, police officers can be regarded as having a distinct culture of this kind. See also organizational culture.

akinetopsia

n. inability to see objects in motion as a result of damage to the V5 area of visual cortex. Individuals with akinetopsia perceive moving stimuli as a series of stationary strobelike images and see visual trails behind moving objects. Also called motion agnosia. —akinetopsic adj.
