Nuremberg code

a set of 10 guidelines for conducting research with human participants that was established in 1949 following public discovery of the atrocities committed by Nazi scientists during World War II. The Nuremberg code introduced several important principles, including informed consent and the right of individuals to withdraw participation at any time.
