in discriminations involving two alternatives, a change in contingencies such that stimuli that were irrelevant in the initial phase of training become the relevant stimuli in a later phase. For example, in initial training involving the presentation of squares, circles, and other shapes, white shapes might be designated correct and black ones incorrect.
