nomifensine
n. an antidepressant that is structurally different from any in current use. It blocks the synaptic reuptake of norepinephine and dopamine but not of serotonin. Due to severe, sometimes fatal, drug reactions, including acute hemolytic anemia, it was withdrawn worldwide in 1986. However, it is still used in research in laboratory animals.
