noise effects

physiological stress responses to noise, especially if it is prolonged or occurs during demanding cognitive or physical tasks. Noise interferes with the performance of complex tasks and can produce learned helplessness, prevent or disturb sleep, and—with provocation—heighten aggression. See also environmental stress.
