n. a culture-bound syndrome found in Siberian populations. Similar to latah, it is characterized by indiscriminate, apparently uncontrolled imitations of the actions of other people encountered by the individual. Also called ikota; irkunii; menkeiti; olan. chaos theory

an area of mathematical theory that deals with nonlinear systems that are profoundly affected by their initial conditions, tiny variations in which can produce complex, unpredictable, and erratic effects.
