n. in linguistic analysis, a unit of meaning that cannot be analyzed into smaller such units. For example, the word books is composed of two morphemes, book and the suffix -s signifying a plural noun. See bound morpheme; free morpheme. —morphemic adj.

behavior disorder

any persistent and repetitive pattern of behavior that violates societal norms or rules, seriously impairs a person’s functioning, or creates distress in others. The term is used in a very general sense to cover a wide range of disorders or syndromes. Also called behavioral disorder. See also primary behavior disorder.
