mixed-motive game

mixed-motive game

any simulation of social interaction that combines opportunities for coordination with antagonistic motivations. The prisoner’s dilemma game, for example, is structured so that players can reach their goals either by competing against or by cooperating with others. See also social dilemma; social trap.
