1. a deficit in theory of mind that is characteristic of people with autism. A person with mindblindness cannot “read the minds” of others—that is, understand their behavior in terms of belief–desire reasoning. [described by British psychologist Simon Baron-Cohen (1958–  )]

2. an obsolete name for visual agnosia. [coined in 1881 by Polish-born German physiologist Hermann Munk]
