meningioma

n. a benign brain tumor that develops in the arachnoid layer of the meninges, accounting for 15% to 25% of all tumors of the brain and spinal cord. Meningiomas are typically slow growing and cause damage mainly by pressure against the brain. Patients may complain of headaches or seizures as first symptoms.
