the use of very high doses of vitamins and mineral supplements, particularly vitamin C (ascorbic acid), nicotinic acid (niacin), vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), and magnesium, to treat certain mental disorders. Such an approach has not been widely adopted, and effectiveness is uncertain.
