medical audit

a systematic evaluation of the effectiveness of diagnostic and treatment procedures. A retrospective medical audit is based on a review of a patient’s charts after he or she has been discharged; a concurrent medical audit is conducted while the patient is still under treatment.

the tendency for objects or stimuli to pass in and out of attention even though stimulation is constant.
