medial temporal amnesia

medial temporal amnesia

anterograde and retrograde amnesia caused by damage to the medial temporal lobe. Causes include infarction of the posterior cerebral artery, anoxia, encephalitis, temporal lobectomy, and trauma. See amnestic disorder.
