measurement model

in structural equation modeling, a model that quantifies the association between observations obtained during research (indicators) and theoretical underlying constructs or factors. When carrying out a confirmatory factor analysis, for example, one assesses a hypothesized measurement model that specifies the relationships between observed indicators and the latent variables that support or affect them.
