Johnson v. Louisiana

a case resulting in an influential 1972 U.S. Supreme Court decision establishing that there is no constitutional requirement that juries be unanimous in their verdict for crimes that are not punishable by death. The court concluded that permitting a majority verdict does not violate due process rights.
