job-safety analysis

a specialized form of task analysis used to identify and control operating hazards in the workplace. It involves defining the job, identifying required tasks, identifying hazards, and making recommendations to eliminate or control the hazards. Also called job-hazard analysis. See also accident analysis; accident-path model; failure modes and effects analysis; fault tree analysis.
