job involvement

job involvement

the degree to which a person psychologically identifies with his or her job. A person who has a high level of job involvement usually obtains major life satisfaction from the job. Job accomplishments lead to a strong sense of pride and self-esteem, whereas failures in the job lead to discontent and depression. See also job satisfaction.
