iridology

n. a highly controversial method of assessing health by examining the irises of an individual’s eyes. Patterns, color variations, and other characteristics of the connective tissue of the iris are thought to be related to specific body parts and indicate health, disorder, or disease. This method lacks sufficient supporting evidence and is not widely accepted among medical professionals.
