ipsilateral eye

ipsilateral eye

the eye located on the same side of the body as another structure or object. For example, Layer 5 of the left lateral geniculate nucleus receives input from the retinal ganglion cell axons that originate in the left (i.e., ipsilateral) eye. Compare contralateral eye.
