middle insomnia

middle insomnia

a period of sleeplessness that occurs after falling asleep normally, with difficulty in falling asleep again. It is a common symptom of a major depressive disorder. Also called broken sleep. Compare initial insomnia; terminal insomnia. See also segmented sleep.
