analeptic

n. any stimulant other than amphetamines that produces subjective effects similar to those caused by amphetamine use. These effects may include alertness, elevated mood, increased energy, decreased appetite, irritability, and insomnia. The group includes diethylpropion, methylphenidate, and pemoline. See also appetite suppressant.
