acute cerebellar ataxia

acute cerebellar ataxia

a disorder that occurs suddenly, most often in children, following a viral infection. It is characterized by slurred speech; muscular incoordination (ataxia); rapid, involuntary eye movements (nystagmus); and intention tremor (see action tremor). Also called acute cerebral tremor.
