holistic psychology

an approach to psychology based on the view that psychological phenomena must be studied as wholes, or that individuals are biological, psychological, and sociocultural totalities that cannot be fully explained in terms of individual components or characteristics. Holistic psychology is not a specific school but a perspective that informs the theories, methodologies, and practice of certain approaches, such as humanistic psychology and client-centered therapy.

manoptoscope

n. a hollow cone used for measuring eye dominance. The observer views a small target by placing the base of the cone near the eyes and then viewing the target through the small end of the cone while closing first one eye and then the other. The eye through which the target is actually seen is the dominant eye.
