group health plan
an insurance plan that offers health care coverage to a group of individuals under a single insurance contract. In the United States, group health plans are often offered by employers to their employees as a fringe benefit. Membership organizations, such as unions, alumni associations, and professional associations, may also offer group health plans as a benefit of membership.
