Graves’ disease

a disorder characterized by enlargement and overactivity of the thyroid gland and marked by a swelling in the neck (goiter), abnormal protrusion of the eyeballs (exophthalmos), and rapid pulse and other symptoms of thyrotoxicosis. [Robert J. Graves (1796–1853), Irish physician]
