n. a type of society or social group based on a community of feeling resulting from shared life experiences and similar beliefs and values (from German, “community”). Familial and kinship relations are an example, although the term can also apply to friendship networks and neighborhood relations. Compare Gesellschaft. reciprocal

n. the number that when multiplied by another number gives a result of 1. The reciprocal of x is therefore 1/x and that of 1/x is x. So, for example, 1/4 is the reciprocal of 4.
