gangliosidosis

gangliosidosis

n. a disorder of lipid metabolism marked by the excessive accumulation of gangliosides in the nervous system. Gangliosidosis occurs in a number of different forms, each associated with a specific ganglioside; Tay–Sachs disease is one type of gangliosidosis.
