forensic neuroscience

an emerging field in which the regulation of certain behaviors, including criminal, antisocial, sociopathic, and psychopathic, is viewed in light of neural mechanisms that may determine such behaviors. Theoretically, these behaviors are seen as arising not from an individual’s failure to know right from wrong but from neural mechanisms that may be functioning improperly.
