family psychology
a basic and applied specialty in psychology that focuses on interactions within the family and developmentally influential contexts (e.g., neighborhoods, schools.). Research and clinical intervention in this specialty are taught in doctoral psychology programs, either within a specified family curriculum or more often within broader programs, such as clinical research and applied clinical and counseling programs.
