eyewitness memory

an individual’s recollection of an event, often a crime or accident of some kind, that he or she personally saw or experienced. The reliability of eyewitness testimony is a major issue in forensic psychology, given the existence of such phenomena as the misinformation effect and weapon-focus effect.
