ecological perspective

a concept of community psychology in which a community (or any other social entity) is viewed in terms of the interrelations among people, roles, organizations, local events, resources, and problems. It accounts for complex reciprocal interactions of individuals and their environment. The premise of the ecological perspective is that intervention should contribute to the development of the entire community.
