articulator
n. any of the elements of the vocal tract (e.g., lips, tongue, soft palate) that are involved in articulation, that is, in the shaping and production of speech sounds. Some authorities include the cheeks, larynx, uvula, alveolar ridge, nose, and teeth as articulators.
