Dvorak keyboard

a keyboard layout based upon the frequency with which letters appear in the English language. Keys are placed such that the most frequently occurring keys are all in the main or home row (the row upon which the fingers rest) and are therefore the easiest to reach. Also called Dvorak simplified keyboard. See also chord keyboard. [invented in 1936 by August Dvorak (1894–1975), U.S. educator]
