directive leader

a group leader who actively guides the group’s planning, activities, and decision making. In therapeutic groups, for example, a directive leader is one who guides the course of the interaction, assigns various tasks to the group members, and offers verbal interpretations and recommendations. In contrast, nondirective democratic leaders refrain from providing direction or interpretation.
