delusional jealousy

a false belief that a spouse or partner is unfaithful. The individual is constantly on the watch for indications that this belief is justified, manufactures evidence if it is not to be found, and completely disregards facts that contravene the conviction. Also called morbid jealousy; Othello syndrome or delusion; pathological jealousy.
